Worldwide research shows there are strong links between creating art and a person’s health and wellbeing. Through Art people can develop supportive social networks, discover and develop new skills, increase their self-esteem, and improve the sense of control over their lives.
This course aims to assist people who are experiencing barriers to gain personal confidence to move forward in life with a goal to pursue either further study and/or volunteer / employment opportunities.
Through an art based therapeutic process, participants create a visual Art Journal using a multitude of mixed mediums. With the support and guidance of an experienced holistic Art Therapist, participants learn to gain an understanding and meaning of barriers and how to move forward through them.
